Justin Hamby

Local License

Justin Hamby has been in children’s ministry his entire life, continuing a long legacy of children’s ministers. Together with his wife, Nicole, and his 3 daughters – Maci, Bailee, and Preslee – he travels the country bringing excitement, energy, and an improv style of teaching.

In 2004, he started a mid-week program called “Reaching Our Kids” or “ROK”. Reaching Our Kids is an exciting ministry that’s focused on worship, mentorship, and finding new ways to reach kids in this modern age. We teach our kids and volunteers that ministry begins with a focus on serving God and serving each other, with worship as the backbone of everything we do.

A typical ROK service – immersed with awesome lighting, media, sound effects, and a variety of modern puppetry and props – will have kids leading worship, leading each other in prayer, giving testimonies, being a big part of the lesson, and becoming altar workers. In 13 years of this exciting program, we’ve had numerous children receive the Holy Ghost and have observed their families become forever changed by their children’s witness. In 2017, we began to coordinate with our Bible Quizzing and SundaySchool programs and have observed a steady increase in our church attendance as a result.

ROK curriculums are created in-house by Justin Hamby with a new theme selected each year. Justin has traveled all over the country and taught other churches how to integrate ROK into their existing programs. Check out our facebook page and our website for more information, videos and photos of this exciting ministry, and get ready to ROK!
