I am a General Licensed Minister with the U.P.C.I. I have been ministering to children and youth for 26 years. I have been working children’s ministry in my local church, IL. Kid’s Camp, and in my section before starting to go into Children’s Ministry full time. My burden is to minister my heart to kid’s of all ages. I use all avenues of creativity to reach every hungry soul including puppets, action songs, object lessons to get on every level necessary. I have ministered in crusades, revivals, V.B.S.’s, and have had the opportunity to minister at IL Kid’s Camps. I also enjoy sharing my burden and testimony in Teachers Workshops.
Working as a team, the Durnfords incorporate Bible doctrine and principles in every area of the children’s service: interactive worship and prayer, object lessons, fun activities, ventriloquism, puppetry, and illustrative preaching. They have been involved in children’s ministry for over twenty-five years: teaching, preaching, and ministering to children in local Sunday School, street outreach, district functions, and children’s camps. In addition, they provide training seminars on a variety of subjects to children’s ministry workers. The Durnfords believe that children’s ministry happens 24/7, not just during class or service. Bro Durnford enjoys ministering to the children on their level and is often found sitting in the pew with children surrounding him–telling jokes, stories, and interacting with them individually. Sis Durnford is a writer of children’s curriculum, both for Word Aflame Sunday School materials and her two children’s books, God’s Word & me and Operation Prayer & me (available through Pentecostal Publishing House). She has a tremendous burden for children’s prayer ministry in the local church. Together they wish to minister to every child—saved, unsaved, saint’s child or preacher’s kid—because they know the powerful potential of God-fearing, praying children!
